This is the recipe I've been using (and tinkering with) for over 16 years for myself, my family, and friends. We use it on lips, wind-chapped cheeks, cuticles...pretty much anywhere it's needed. I even used this on my kids when they were babies. This recipe is a bit softer than the lotion bars - they have all the same ingredients as the hand salve but it's poured into lip balm tubes instead of tins to solidify. You can still use it anywhere - it's not just for lips!

I have pretty sensitive skin and have found that even shea and cocoa butters make me break out. All the ingredients in these bars can be used anywhere on your body and are gentle enough for babies. I also don't use pore-clogging ingredients because I want to be comfortable putting this on my face as well. And now my products are all free of tree nuts after my husband developed a tree nut sensitivity a few years ago.

I make the balms using organic beeswax, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and essential oils. All of the essential oils in these lip balm are skin safe and do not cause photo sensitivity. Because lips are such a delicate body part, the essential oil dilution for these is 0.5%.

Ingredients
- Beeswax
- Grapeseed oil - I steep calendula petals in grapeseed oil for several weeks to make an infusion
- Jojoba oil
- Vitamin E oil
- essential oils - for the different scents I use sweet orange, chamomile, lavender, vanilla, and sandalwood

If you're in a warmer climate and the balm happens to soften, just set it upright in the fridge for a few minutes until it's solid again. Beeswax has a melting point of 145°F so it will take a lot of heat to make these melt. I almost always have a tube of this in the pocket of my jeans and have never had any problems with them softening.

Each lip balm comes in a standard 5.5ml twist up tube with a press on cap.

If you're interested in more than the quantity listed in the shop please send me a message. I don't keep a large number of the balms/lotions in stock because I prefer to make small batches more frequently to keep them fresh. But I usually have the supplies on hand to accommodate a larger order!
